먼저 우열을 가리기 힘든 훌륭한 발표에 大韓民國의 미래가 밝다는 뿌듯함을 느껴봅니다.
저희 학교 국제학부 수업에서도 영어발표와 토론수업을 병행하면서 집중과 몰입이 가능해 졌고, 창의,논리력과 함께 자신감을 키울 수 있었습니다. MK영어수업도 이번 대회를 출발점으로 좋은 결과가 나올 수 있으리라 봅니다.
참가한 학생들은 국제어로서의 영어를 즐기고 집중하고 몰입하는 모습이 보였습니다. 영어실력과 발표력도 우수함은 물론 안정적이며 호소력이 있습니다. 박수를 보내드리며 다음에 직접 볼 수 있는 기회가 있기 바라겠습니다. 저희 조상들은 조선시대에도 세계를 무대로 활동한 분 들이 많았습니다. 지금도 국제무대에서 세계와 우리나라의 발전에 이바지 하는 반기문총장님이나 김연아선수들이 그들의 후예입니다. 여러분들도 자신과 민족의 밝은 미래를 위해 영어를 도구로 더 큰 세상을, 더 큰 꿈을 키워가는 MK학생들이 되시기 진심으로 기원해 봅니다!

Here are my choices:
1st - Charlotte
2nd - Amy
3rd - Susan
Some comments -
They all - except Tim - had the whole speech memorized well so the decision came down to a combination of pronunciation, intonation, phrasing and expression. (By expression I mean things like the ability to vary the speaking tempo and tone, use emphasis or pauses appropriately, gesture, appear natural)
Charlotte was the clear winner - with clear pronunciation, natural phrasing and good expression.
Amy also had good speaking overall but lacked Charlotte's expression and had a few more pronunciation errors .
It was difficult deciding third place because, really, there was not much difference between the other three girls and they could easily have shared the place.
Iris had excellent memory but she spoke too quickly and lacked expression, her intonation was kind of monotonous and she made a number of pronunciation errors (London, fortunate, athletes, regions), some where it was hard to make out the word (ice rink, hard way (?), seeking). Also she stared directly into the camera with a very serious expression. If she can slow down, improve her phrasing, be a bit more playful and expressive, she will probably win next time.
I liked Violet's delivery - relaxed, friendly, she had a nice presence and good expression with natural phrasing and pausing but she also had language errors (missing 'the' in a few places, 'more better') and a few too many lapses of memory towards the end. Maybe she just needs a little more practice.
Susan also had a bit of Iris' tendency to be too serious and monotone but I think she paced her delivery quite well - didn't speak too quickly (and she had a very cute way of sticking out her tongue every now and then^^) and overall had good pronunciation.
I really like Tim's voice quality - he sounds totally natural and relaxed with good phrasing and intonation but he had too many lapses of memory and didn't finish the script. Like Violet, probably needs to practice more.
Overall I'm very impressed. I hard a hard time singling out one student for third place and think you could also consider it a tie (3rd = Iris, Violet, Susan). Poor Tim though.

1st- Amy (good clear voice, excellent eye contact , good speed)
2nd- Susan( good voice, eye contact is not bad, some pausing during speech)
3rd- Iris( overall not bad, faster speech is better, memorize some parts of the speech)
4th-Charlotte (too fast speech, stuttering, seems like looking for the speech again in her head, not bad performance)
5th-Tim ( so-so body movement, eye contact is poor, voice is not bad, but needs to be more clearer)
6th-Violet(too slow, stop and go speech pattern, too much movement)

As for my news, yes, everything is going well. This Fall I hope to start studying for my CELTA qualification at the British Council, which would allow me to teach adults all round the world. At the moment I'm still teaching in Apgujeong at the University academy which sends students to universities to Australia.
